The Beru sensors used on Prevost vehicles to monitor tire pressure (TPMS system) are being replaced by new Huf sensors and their corresponding stainless valves stems. Since the older and newer sensors are using different valve stems, replacement of a defective sensor on older vehicles will require the use of a new kit number (valve stem and sensor assembly). The table below provides a quick overview between the older and newer part numbers depending on wheel application.

Specifically, the R34 relay should be identified as a 24 volt relay instead of a 12 volt relay. Consequently, all affected vehicles must have a small decal displaying the correct information applied over the rear junction box decal R34 relay description.

Please verify and correct as necessary the wheel lug torque on the concerned vehicles, or bring the vehicle at a Prevost Service Center for verification at your earliest convenience.

The software will also change urea dosing valve behavior at shutdown and key-on. As an additional improvement, replace the urea dosing valve by an improved design. These hardware and software improvements aim to reduce the occurrence of clogging and shorting of the Urea Dosing Valve.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, it is possible to observe signs of corrosion at the base of the master relay installed in the vehicle battery box. At the next service occasion, install a new relay along with shims between the relay mounting flange and the battery box bottom in a way that space is created between the relay base and the battery box bottom, preventing corrosion of the relay.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, perform a power source improvement and a multiplex software update for the steering Gateway module. On a limited number of vehicles, the module will be replaced with the latest version of the part.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, verify the revision numbers of the steering wheel gateway module and multiplex software. If applicable, replace with the latest version. A power source improvement is also required. On some vehicles, as a temporary measure, a switch was installed on the left dashboard for cruise control SET and RESUME. This installation must be removed to restore these controls to the steering wheel.

This Maintenance Information explains that on some post EPA 2010 vehicles, it is possible for the combined charging and starting system F81 fuse to blow unexpectedly. To avoid this situation, a 3 amp diode can be added to the corresponding 24CO circuit to prevent electrical back-flow to the fuse. The following procedure describes the steps to follow to perform this modification.

When performing the next periodic maintenance, check clearance between the 4-inch OD turbooutlet pipe (Prevost part number 052953) and a close support bracket. If evidence of rubbing isfound, i.e. scratched paint on the 4-inch OD turbo outlet pipe, a modification of the support bracket can be performed in order to increase the clearance between the involved components. The support bracket will remain strong enough for the duty even after being modified.
