Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

The gasket thickness was increased from 1.5 mm to 3 mm to prevent interference between the collar ends, which previously made it impossible to reach the specified tightening torque. Increasing the gasket thickness ensures sufficient clearance between the collar ends and thus guarantees optimal tightening.

The software will also change urea dosing valve behavior at shutdown and key-on. As an additional improvement, replace the urea dosing valve by an improved design. These hardware and software improvements aim to reduce the occurrence of clogging and shorting of the Urea Dosing Valve.

ELECTRIC AIR DRYER CUT-OFF PRESSURE & DESICCANT REGENERATION FACTOR This update involves all OBD13 & GHG14 vehicles in service (refer to Application table for involved vehicles range). This update will reduce air dryer cut-off pressure from 144 psi to 140 psi and extend desiccant regeneration time, thus preventing presence of water in the accessory tank.

On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, software updates with enhancements are available for the multiplex system, for the EMS and aftertreatment control module (ACM). On all vehicles, perform a DPF Service Regeneration and Crystal Sublimation when programming is completed.
Complaint counts are reports filed with NHTSA, not failure rates. A common model collects more of them than a rare one that breaks more often.
