The cause of the concern may be due to degradation of the rear axle fluid. It is very important to follow the routine maintenance schedules on these vehicles when it comes to changing the rear axle fluid if the vehicle is used primarily for towing or hauling heavy loads. If you experience a vehicle with the above condition, please perform the proper maintenance procedures for the rear axle and replace the fluid first before replacing any hardware components. NOTE: This service bulletin is only applicable to vehicles that have no history of an axle fluid replacement. If the vehicle usage includes police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing, regular axle fluid changes are required every 3 years or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first) per the Maintenance Schedule in the vehicle Owner's Manual. ADJUSTER Valve Lash Customer's complaint may include a ticking noise coming from the engine. Technician's observations can refer to spongy or stuck hydraulic lash adjusters. Exhaust lash adjusters found with a "spongy" condition (compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. EXHAUST lash adjusters are designed to be COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Intake lash adjusters found with a stiff or stuck condition (non-compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. INTAKE lash adjusters are designed to be NON COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Do Not Replace EXHAUST lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should be compressible, but they will exert a reactionary spring force during compression and return to full expansion without a compression force. Do Not Replace INTAKE lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should feel very firm and difficult to compress. Once the correct functioning of the intake and exhaust lash adjusters is validated with the procedure above, refer to the Service Manual "HYDRAULIC LIFTER(S) NOISE DIAGNOSIS" procedure. CANISTER Vapor -If an issue is detected with the Evaporative System Integrity Module (ESIM) Detector and not the Vapor Canister, only replace the ESIM Detector. -Before replacing the Vapor Canister due to Hard to Fill condition, replicate the condition at the Gas Station. If the condition is replicated, then check: 1) for kinked or pinched Clean Air Hose between the ESIM and the EVAP Air Filter; 2) for plugged EVAP Air Filter; 3) for kinked or pinched Vapor Hose between the Fuel Tank and the Vapor Canister. If the EVAP Filter is restricted, the replace the Filter. -Check if the Vapor Canister is flooded with fuel or the Recirculation Line has fuel. If fuel is found in the Vapor Canister or the Recirculation Line, then drop the Fuel Tank, remove the FDM Lock Ring to check if the internal Vapor Line is properly connected to the FDM Port. If the Vapor Line is not connected, then drain the fuel from the internal Vapor Line and properly connect to the FDM. Replace the Vapor Canister and the ESIM.

High mileage failure (10,000-60,000 miles). 1. Remove the valve cover(s) per the released service procedures. The use of a stethoscope or DTC specific cylinder misfire codes can help to locate the condition to the left or right bank. 2. Once it has been visually confirmed that there is wear on the high lift intake lobe(s) & rocker arm(s) slider, there is a special service kit for this type of repair which should be used, instead of replacing the complete engine/long block. This kit contains the parts required for the repair (intake cam, rocker arms, sealer and gaskets). Once it is confirmed that the repair will be done using the camshaft/Rocker arms kit, it is also important to confirm that the vehicle being repaired has the latest calibration/software update for oil pump operation mode (high pressure mode) during engine start up. Please follow the next steps to corroborate if the Headlamp Switch is malfunctioning: 1.- Please disconnect and reconnect the headlamp Switch. And verify if the issue is corrected. 2.- Review the internal resistance of the switch: a.- For the Right Dimmer (IP) between Pins 6 & 3. The value should be around 5.74 KOhms, when in the lowest position to 311 ohms in the top position (Parade Detent). b.- For the left Dimmer (Ambient Light) between pins 8 & 3. Rear Axle Vibration Shudder Or Chatter Customers may experience the following: ● A chatter, shudder, or vibration from the rear axle during turns. NOTE: This may happen more as the vehicle ages, especially if the vehicle is used extensively for towing or hauling heavy loads. The cause of the concern may be due to degradation of the rear axle fluid. It is very important to follow the routine maintenance schedules on these vehicles when it comes to changing the rear axle fluid if the vehicle is used primarily for towing or hauling heavy loads. If you experience a vehicle with the above condition, please perform the proper maintenance procedures for the rear axle and replace the fluid first before replacing any hardware components. NOTE: This service bulletin is only applicable to vehicles that have no history of an axle fluid replacement. If the vehicle usage includes police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing, regular axle fluid changes are required every 3 years or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first) per the Maintenance Schedule in the vehicle Owner's Manual. This bulletin involves changing the rear axle lube to possibly address a chatter, shudder or vibration.

ROCKER ARM ASSY - ROLLER ROCKER Case 1.- Before replacing the intake or exhaust rocker arms due to an abnormal ticking noise, please check that the INTAKE Hydraulic Lash Adjusters are not "collapsed". If a collapsed INTAKE HLA is found, replace all INTAKE HLAs on the suspect cylinder head (no need to replace rocker arms). The noise can occur at low or high RPMs, and at low or high temperatures. There are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s present. Case 2.- If the INTAKE camshaft or INTAKE rocker arm has excessive wear on the high lift profile (Rocker arm: slider, Camshaft: central lobe), replace the intake camshaft (1) in that cylinder head and all intake rocker arms (6).

It could have been pulled out while removal of the hose from the spigot if it was partially stuck to the spigot. It could have been blown into the hose or CAC. The customer may describe the following:A chatter, shudder, or vibration from the rear axle during turns. This may happen more as the vehicle ages, especially if the vehicle is used extensively for towing or hauling heavy loads. The cause of the concern may be due to degradation of the rear axle fluid. It is very important to follow the routine maintenance schedules on these vehicles when it comes to changing the rear axlefluid if the vehicle is used primarily for towing or hauling heavy loads. If you experience a vehicle with the above condition, please perform the proper maintenance procedures for the rear axle and replace the fluid first before replacing any hardware components.This service bulletin is only applicable to vehicles that have no history of an axle fluid replacement. If the vehicle usage includes police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing, regular axle fluid changes are required every3 years or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first) per the Maintenance Schedule in the vehicle Owner's Manual.

Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster (VF) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

Transmission Oil Pan, Heater (TMU), Tube or O-ring Applies to vehicles equipped with 8 speed transmissions only; if you have a leak that appears to be at the pan the use of proper leak detection is recommended. The fluid in the 8 speeds can be detected with a black light and there are aftermarket spray on leak detection materials to help ensure that the leak is properly diagnosed and not from another location such as cooler lines, heater tubes, or case porosity. Please note that the transmission pan gasket is available for many of the 8 speed applications FCA offers. Please review the available quick connect and transfer tube parts, as replacement of the TMU may not be required. If a TOC line connection is found to be the source, the quick connect may need replacement. If the leak source is coming from the connection of the TMU to the transmission, the transfer tube may need replacement. When parts are returned to the QEC the retaining clips (snap ring) for the quick disconnect fittings are missing. (This leaves a question as to whether the clips were missing from the assembly plant, or the technician removed them in order to make line removal easier.) Please return the clips with the transmission heater and note if they were not there to begin with. For any questions regarding transmission heater, contact FCA Redacted Content. BUMPER, Tailgate (U-frame) When swing doors are opened on multi-function tailgate the overslam bumper sticks to the door and pulls out of the U-frame. If bumper is still stuck to the swing door remove and resecure using Mopar Bond-All Gel PN 04467709AA. It is recommended to apply adhesive to the mounting face of all 4 bumpers and replace any missing bumpers as required. Use adhesive sparingly to avoid squeeze out and follow manufacturers recommendations for surface preparation and cure time.

Power Latch W/AJAR Prior to ordering this part for a customer stating the Tailgate will not auto release or Ajar light is on when the tailgate is closed, first try adjusting the tailgate strikers to minimize the force required to close. The striker must be centered up/down in the latch opening. You have to balance tailgate flushness and closing effort by moving the strikers fore or aft. Striker position also affects closing effort. In most cases moving the right side striker rearward or the left side forward fixes the issue and maintains flushness within tolerance. On the standard tailgate, the ajar switch is on the right side latch only. Please contact FCA Redacted Content for diagnostic assistance and information to assist in problem resolution. SEAL, Input If looking to replace stubshaft due to ATX fluid leaking, do not replace PTU seals. None of the seals from the PTU side will need to be replaced whenever the ATX stubshaft is replaced, even though V-seal (68408748A$) is in direct contact with the stubshaft, it will not avoid grease/oil leakage from transmission side. PTU V-seals are intended to act as a dust cover for stubshaft - PTU input shaft spline interface. PTU Input shaft seal (68408749A$) is intended to hold PTU oil and debris ingress; it should be replaced only if the fluid leakage is confirmed to be PTU oil and not ATX trans. fluid.

The part number is embossed on the pitman arm.~If the pitman arm is not a 68039930AA, it must be replaced with a 68039930AA.~ Issue 2: For 2003 to 2007 MY only.
