ADJUSTER Seat DJ D2 DP 1st Row Power Seat Fore/Aft Adjuster Inspection TSB is also released for this concern. SYMPTOM/CONDITION: Fore-aft function does NOT work when actuating the seat switch. DIAGNOSIS: 1) Put seat in position for inspection. 2) Disconnect seat wire harness motor connector from the fore-aft motor on the seat adjuster, wait 10 seconds, and reconnect. 3) Verify function of the fore/aft adjuster. Step 1. Open 2nd row door and function rear seat cushions up to stowed position. Step 2. Adjust the driver front seat to the full up position. Use switches on the side shield to move power seat fully up. Step 3. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the seat to the truck floor and discard. The bolts have lock patch that is not reusable. Step 4. Lay the seat down so its laying on its back so the underside of the seat is easily accessible. Step 5. Remove the fore/aft wire harness motor connector from the fore/aft motor (back right of the seat adjuster). Push on the tab to remove the motor wire harness connector from the motor. Leave disconnected for 10 seconds. Step 6. Reconnect the fore/aft wire harness motor connector to the fore/aft motor. Push / Pull / Push the connector with fingers to ensure the wire harness connector is fully seated to the fore/aft motor connector. Step 7. Before assembling the seat back to the truck floor, cycle the seat to check that the motor is working properly by pressing the fore/aft switch. If fore/aft motor does not function, please refer to Replacement Procedure below. Step 8. If the seat is working properly, carefully reassemble the seat back to the truck floor using the four new bolts. Use a torque wrench to verify 47 Nm. Step 9. *Note: Checking the passenger seat will be the same procedure as the driver seat. REPLACEMENT PROCEDURE Only for seats rejected after inspection. Replace Power Seat Adjuster per MOPAR service part replacement instructions. MOPAR Part Numbers: 68455847AA, 68455848AA, 68455849AA

MODULE Steering Control Before replacing the steering column control module (SCCM) due to turn signal inop, wipers inop, steering controls inop, TCS light DTC C0051 or horn blowing while turning, please follow these steps: 1.- Refer to service library procedure and follow diagnosis steps. 2.- If failure still present, make sure all the switches', horn's, airbag's harness are properly connected and there is no corrosion or pinching, disconnect the switches & reconnect them, and reverify the issue. 3.- Verify if failure is still present, review if there is lack of communication between SCCM and BCM. For example, activate turn signals or wipers. 4.- Read at the BCM diagnosis session if BCM is receiving information from SCCM. Through diagnosis review if activation from horn, wipers or turn signal is requested and are working. 5.- Disconnect the SCCM fuse for around 30s,and repeat the previous steps to see if failure still present. 6.- Do a hard reset to BCM and evaluate if any DTC is set. Retest if failure still present. 7.- Before replacing the SCCM disconnect it and reconnect it again. If there are no DTC's active, physical defects, steering controls inop, wipers inop, nor turn signal inop, horn inop, then SCCM does not need to be replaced.

SEAT BELT Front Outer Seatbelt Slow Retraction / Seat Belt Cleaning If the vehicle exhibits slow seatbelt retraction, prior to replacing seatbelt please inspect for debris and any build up on the webbing and DRing. If evidence of debris and build up, please clean seatbelt webbing or turning loop as described below. Seat Belt Maintenance: Do not bleach, dye or clean the belts with chemical solvents or abrasive cleaners. This will weaken the fabric. If the belts need cleaning, use a mild soap solution or lukewarm water. Do not remove the belts from the vehicle to wash them. Dry with a soft cloth. Sun damage can also weaken the fabric. Replace the belts if they appear frayed or worn or if the buckles do not work properly. NOTE: If the belts retract slowly, inspect the upper turning loop for soiling. If soiling is present, clean with a wet soft cloth until all residue is removed.

CAN Star Block Connector Customer finds MIL light on and technician finds DTC for loss of communication on one or more modules. In repair procedure the dealerships are replacing the CAN star block connector during their root cause process with returned parts showing no trouble found. Here is a list of steps the dealers can follow to determine if they have a defective CAN star block connector using a multimeter: Step 1: Visually review CAN star block for damage and ensure back cover has all locking tabs engaged. If a bent pin, cracked or damaged housing or locking tab is not engaged is observed then replacement is required. Step 2: Identify Connector #1 as the 3 Pin Connector cavity Step 3: Measure resistance between Pin#1 and Pin#2 in Connector #1. Acceptable values are 120.4 Ohms to 139.8 Ohms. If resistance is outside of this range then replacement is required. Step 4: Measure the continuity between Pin#1 in Connector #1 to Pin#1 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities. If continuity is not found then a replacement is required. Step 5: Measure the continuity between Pin#2 in Connector #1 to Pin#2 in each of the other 2 Pin connector cavities. If continuity is not found then a replacement is required.

NOTE: This service bulletin is only applicable to vehicles that have no history of an axle fluid replacement. If the vehicle usage includes police, taxi, fleet, off-road or frequent trailer towing, regular axle fluid changes are required every 3 years or 30,000 miles (whichever comes first) per the Maintenance Schedule in the vehicle Owner's Manual. This bulletin involves changing the rear axle lube to possibly address a chatter, shudder or vibration.

GENERATOR Engine Prior to alternator/generator removal: 1. Inspect & check all electrical connections to the alternator a. 2-way connector containing field control circuit & alternator sense voltage circuit. b. Unplug & plug-in the 2-way connector for field & sense circuit. Verify the connection is tight & check for any bent pins in alternator connector or damage to female terminals in connector. c. Check Alternator B+ Stud connection to be sure nut is securing positive cable terminal properly (i.e. nut is clamping terminal & connection is tight). d. Check fuse between the alternator B+ stud & PDC terminal to make sure it is not blown. e. Be sure to follow service manual sections on ALTERNATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT DIAGNOSTIC & ALTERNATOR SENSE CIRCUIT DIAGNOSTIC looking for any opens & shorts (to ground or battery voltage). 2. Check/verify all grounds in the charging system circuit a. Check tightness of mounting bolts securing alternator to engine block. Alternator is a case ground component. b. Check main ground from engine to chassis; connection must be tight. c. Check battery ground cable connections are tight. d. Potentially, loosen alternator mounting bolts, without removing alternator, and re-tighten to torque specifications in service manual. e. After all steps above are complete, re-start engine & check charging system operation. 3. Verify that the Smart Charging System is not the reason for alternator low voltage & current output (Amps). a. Alternator charging can be suspended during engine idle operation because of the Smart Charge strategy. b. Refer to service manual section "System Operation - Smart Charging System". c. Refer to Star Case S2008000031 Rev A for low charging voltage & Smart Charge Mode Voltage Range diagram & mode descriptions. d. The alternator has no internal regulator; thus, has no smart circuitry. All alternator control signals come from ECM. 4. If alternator is faulty, remove alternator & mounting bolts. Return alternator with bolts for analysis at QEC.

3.5 INCH - SPEAKER ASSY P2 Before ordering a speaker part for crackles or rattling noises make sure to take the following steps: 1. Check for electrical harness routing too close to speaker's rear moving parts, improper connection, and/or harness pinch or damage. 2. Ensure no loose components, including trim grilles, fasteners, surrounding IP parts, etc. were found when removing the speaker. 3. Try "bad" speaker at another IP location and see if noise follows speaker. Try a different "good" speaker at "bad speaker location" and see if noise still happens at "bad" location. If even with this verification and adjustments the speaker sounds bad, test the individual speaker with the audio files provided in the Service Library Homepage under "Reference Materials" prior to replacement
