This bulletin provides a procedure to address customer concerns of a high-pitched ?chirp?, ?squeak? or ?cricket? sound heard coming from the engine?s Direct Injection (DI) high-pressure fuel pump. Not all DI pumps may exhibit this sound. Some vehicles may have components which in combination with certain fuel temperatures and / or formulations, may result in aeration of the fuel within the body of the pump and cause this sound. This result is non-detrimental to the vehicle. Production changes have been made to eliminate the source of the sound.

In some cases, the Check Engine light may illuminate and a knock sensor-related DTC set in the ECM memory: P0327, P0328, P0332 and P0333. The knock sensor for DIT engines is now utilized for NA engines to improve durability and resistance to heat.

This bulletin provides a service procedure to address a gap between the top edge of the door and the instrument panel on the models listed as shown in the photo below. The gap may also make the glove box door difficult to close fully.There is a latch to keep the glove box closed on both sides of the glove box door. If the door is closed without using enough force to engage both latches or by pushing it shut on just one side instead of in the middle, one may close and not the other. Over time, if the door is not fully closed with both latches, high cabin temperatures along with weight of the items inside the glove box may cause the assembly to deform slightly and a gap to develop.

There have been isolated cases where the sealer used between the upper oil pan and the crankcase has become displaced resulting in engine oil seepage. Revisions made to the upper oil pan casting: * The mating flange thickness of the casting in the area identified as the cause for the seepage has been increased by 5.5mm. (See images provided in the Parts Information section below.) This thickness increase creates the need for a longer bolt to provide proper tightening and retention. * An additional mounting point has been added to the ribbing inside the casting to increase retention of the steel baffle plate and eliminate vibration.

To help better organize these publications, all the related bulletins are being been condensed into this new release putting all the information in one place for easier reference. As listed in their chronological order, design changes and procedures have been developed to address customer concerns of: ? Condition 1: Condensation accumulation- inspection for possible cracking of lamp housing ? Condition 2: Condensation accumulation- flange (retaining) nut change for combination lamp assy. to prevent rear body panel distortion and increased gasket (packing) thickness to improve sealing. ? Condition 3: Trunk lid contacting (and in isolated cases cracking) the combination lamp assy. when closing- change to the trunk stoppers and trunk weatherstrip ? Condition 4: Insect intrusion inside the combination lamps- further revision to the lamp assy. and gasket ? Condition 5: Cloudy appearance of the lens- anti-fog coating applied at production to the inside of combination lamp lens.

This bulletin provides a procedure to address a hard starting condition which may occur on vehicles repeatedly driven for short distances. For example: This condition could arise while the vehicle is in inventory for an extended period of time, regularly started, moved around the lot then shut off before the engine comes up to full operating temperature. This type of repeated, short trip driving can cause carbon deposits to accumulate on the spark plugs and over time, the hard start condition to develop. This condition may take 60 or more similar ?cycles? as described above to manifest so, by description alone, it would be very rare for this to happen and quite challenging to duplicate.
