From Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes=Benz is extending the coverage of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve on vehicle from the vehicle's basic warranty of 5 years/100,000 miles to 15 years/150,000 miles (whichever occurs first) and applies to the vehicle regardless of ownership. Extension is being given because M/B has determined that dimensional variations during engine valve seating may cause the EGR valve to be switched off, and the vehicle may experience a loss of power and enter a limp home mode. The MIL will illuminate and remain illuminated until the vehicle is serviced. When this occurs, the driver may perceive a jerky driving experience while operating the vehicle.

In some instances the rearview image might not be displayed in the central display after engaging the reverse gear. Instead, the central display would continue to display the existing screen image (e.g. navigation, radio, etc.) or display a black screen with a message warning of the inoperability of the rearview camera to display an image. There is no deactivation of the rearview camera, or frozen rearview camera image. A rearview camera image might not be available within 2.0 seconds (as required by FMVSS 111 S5.5.3) as the vehicle begins to back up, which might impair rear visibility which could increase the risk of a crash.

MBAG was notified of customer complaints claiming a van had "rolled away" after the driver had selected the Park ("P") gear position and P was displayed to the driver in the instrument cluster. MBAG confirmed that if the vehicle is not properly secured in accordance with the parking instructions in the vehicle Operator's Manual, in particular by always engaging the parking brake after shifting to P, the vehicle could roll from its parked position which could increase the risk of a crash. Always secure the van in accordance with the instructions in the Operator's Manual.
