Updating the map without the use of an ACN is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 10) and performing this update does not extend the subscription to dynamic map services. If the subscription period has expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an ACN. Utilizing an ACN, will initiate the Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 4). TSB: An initialization procedure is required to activate the Entune? 3.0 App Suite Connect for Audio, Audio Plus, and Premium Audio head units before they are used for the first time on new vehicles. The initialization procedure may also be performed under other circumstances, such as following a head unit replacement or after the customer?s personal settings are erased. The initialization procedure requires between 3 and 15 minutes to complete, depending on file size, cellular connection speed, and other factors. Following the initialization procedure, individual Entune? 3.0 apps may periodically update through an over-the-air update system. Updates are optional or mandatory. The update procedure will take approximately 1 minute for each app requiring an update. Follow the Initialization/Update Procedure in this bulletin to perform the initialization and app updates.

Auxiliary (12V) battery If the hybrid vehicle is put into storage, the State-Of-Charge (SOC) of its HV battery and auxiliary battery will gradually decrease. To prevent the auxiliary battery from becoming discharged during storage, proper maintenance is necessary. Perform the following maintenance service for the HV battery and auxiliary battery. NOTE ? BEFORE disconnecting the auxiliary battery, confirm the shift lever is in the ?P? position and apply the parking brake completely. The shift lever CANNOT be shifted from the ?P? position with the auxiliary battery disconnected. ? If the negative (?) terminal of the auxiliary battery is reconnected, even if the vehicle is powered ON (Ready ON), the hybrid system may NOT start. In this case, depress the brake pedal and press the Power button to start the hybrid system (the Ready light is ON). If the hybrid system still does NOT start (the Ready light is OFF), refer to the Repair Manual.

TSB: REVISION NOTICE December 13, 2019 Rev1: ? Applicability has been updated to include several 2020 model year Toyota vehicles. ? The Required Tools & Equipment section has been updated. Any previous printed versions of this bulletin should be discarded. Some 2018 ? 2020 model year Toyota vehicles equipped with a Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation System require a Special Service Tool (SST) USB flash drive to update the map, points of interest, and system software. The SST is used with applicable vehicles to deliver the update; however, the process for generating license keys differs from previous generations. Before attempting to perform a map update, the head unit?s expiration date must be checked. If the expiration date is still valid, a license key may be generated without the use of an activation card number. Updating the maps without the use of an activation card number is considered an Embedded Navigation Update (refer to pg. 9) and performing this process does not extend the duration of telematic map services. If the head unit?s expiration date is expired, or is expiring within the next 90 days, it should be recommended to the customer to purchase an activation number. Utilizing an activation number will initiate a Dynamic Navigation Update (refer to pg. 3). This Dynamic Navigation Update will perform the Embedded Navigation Update and provide telematic map services for a period of two years from the day that the Dynamic Navigation Update is performed. Activation card numbers are provided in an activation card number pamphlet available through the normal parts ordering system. Follow the process in this bulletin to perform the update.

ALWAYS verify the floor mat is designed specifically for the model and model year it is being installed in. ? ONLY use floor mats that can be secured using the retainers. ALL OEM Toyota floor mats are specifically designed to fit correctly and be secured using the retainers. ? Make sure the floor mat is properly placed on the vehicle carpet and secured with the retainers. If the driver side floor mat is NOT properly placed and secured, it could slip and interfere with the movement of the pedals during driving and may cause an accident. ? Verify the operation of the accelerator, brake, and clutch (if equipped) pedals and clearance to the mat. ? NEVER install more than one floor mat at a time in the driver?s seating position. ? If applicable, ANY secondary set of floor mats (based upon customer preference, such as the all-weather floor mats or other floor mats) MUST be placed in the trunk with ALL the packaging material intact. Do NOT install the secondary mat on top of the primary floor mat already installed in the driver?s seating position.

The decal comes in two sizes (2.8 in. x 8 in. and 4 in. x 8 in.) for small and large hoods and will be applied to the top of PPF for all series at TLS accessory installation facilities. The decal is intended to stay affixed to the film until delivery detail/wash. Just before customer delivery, follow the procedure in this Service Bulletin to remove the decal and any residue left by the adhesive.

TT: The current engine active test ?Control the Injection Mode? is not operating as desired when controlling the direct injectors manually on 2GR-FKS engines. When direct injection is started and then stopped using the active test, current ECU logic does not turn off the direct injectors and can cause DTCs P017200, P017500 and P0160300. To avoid this condition, technicians should raise engine RPM when changing back and forth between the Direct Injection and Port Injection active tests. Use the recommended procedure below to avoid this concern while testing injection mode of FKS equipped vehicles. NOTE: If the active test is used multiple times without using this procedure to raise engine RPM, it may be necessary to reset learning values for fuel trim and Air to Fuel ratio before returning vehicle to customer.
