If these acidic compounds settle on an exposed vehicle, especially the horizontal areas such as the hood, roof, and decklid, significant damage to the painted surfaces can occur. Acid rain damage can typically be identified on vehicles by the presence of stains on the paint surface that resemble hard water spots. Unlike water spots however, acid rain damage cannot be removed by regular washing procedures. Also, because acid rain can etch and soften the paint, normal buffing or polishing repair procedures should not be attempted. This can cause further damage and result in visible depressions in the paint surface. This Customer Support Program provides coverage as it applies to Brake Booster and Brake Booster Pump Assemblies on Certain 2014-2016 Model Year Highlander HV and certain 2017 Model Year Prius V Vehicles. The specific condition covered by this program is related to certain internal malfunctions of the Brake Booster Assembly. One or more of the following specific Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) C1391, C1252, C1253 or C1256 will be stored in the vehicles memory to be used as verification. If the condition is verified, the vehicle will be repaired with new Brake Booster and Brake Booster Pump Assemblies under the terms of this Customer Support Program. • The Primary Coverage will be offered until March 31, 2025, regardless of mileage. • After the Primary Coverage, the Secondary Coverage is applicable for 10 years or 150,000 miles from the date of first use, whichever comes first. This coverage is for work performed at an authorized Toyota dealer only. It is subject to the same terms and conditions set forth in the New Vehicle Limited Warranty Section of the Owner’s Warranty Information booklet. The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard?. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.

TSB: Prius and Mirai vehicles are equipped with 2 types of batteries: * Hybrid Vehicle (HV) battery * 12-volt auxiliary battery If Prius or Mirai vehicles are put into storage, the state of charge (SOC) of its HV battery and auxiliary battery will gradually decrease. To prevent the auxiliary battery from becoming discharged during storage, proper maintenance is necessary. Please perform the following maintenance service for the HV battery and 12-volt auxiliary battery. NOTE * Before disconnecting the auxiliary battery, confirm the shift lever is in the "P" position and apply the parking brake completely. The shift lever CANNOT be shifted from the "P" position with the 12-volt auxiliary battery disconnected. * If the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery is reconnected, even if the power button is in the "START" mode, the hybrid/fuel cell system may NOT start. In this case, push the "POWER" button and select the "START" mode again to start the hybrid/fuel cell system (the "READY" light is ON). If the hybrid/fuel cell system still does NOT start (the "READY" light is OFF), refer to the Repair Manual.

TSB: On some vehicles, when Rapgard is removed, the paint may have a stained appearance. These stains appear to be under the clear coat (repainting this area is not necessary). The stain patterns are usually under wrinkles in the Rapgard. These wrinkles sometimes trap water and cause the paint to stain from the trapped moisture, especially on horizontal surfaces, such as the hood, roof, and trunk. Stains can be removed by heating the stained surface to remove the trapped moisture.

ECUS HAVE INTERNAL SECURITY THAT WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO BE PROGRAMMED WITH ANOTHER ECUS INFORMATION.

TSB: Flash reprogramming allows the ECU software to be updated without replacing the ECU. Flash calibration updates for specific vehicle models/ECUs are released as field-fix procedures described in individual Service Bulletins. This bulletin details the Techstream ECU flash reprogramming process and outlines use of the Technical Information System (TIS) and the Calibration Update Wizard (CUW). Flash calibration updates can only be applied to the vehicle/ECU combination for which they are intended. ECUs have internal security that will not allow them to be programmed with another ECU?s information.
