A number of failures of the speedometer housing & wiring connection have been reported on bikes with VIN numbers between J600001 to J600581. The failure mode has been identified as being excessive vibration from the handle bars passing through to the mounting bolts of the speedometer. This can cause the display not to function correctly. It also has been noted that in certain cases that when the bike is turned off or power removed from the clock, the time on the clock resets back to zero. This is the result of a missing capacitor on the PCB. A speedometer is supplied to resolve this.

The default speed limit of the 2018 UBCO 2x2 will be reducing to 45kmph/28mph. This is due to the entry of the UBCO 2x2 into the European Union - where a maximum speed limit of 45kmph/28mph applies. The new default speed limit will be implemented via firmware version x1.00.330, updated via the UBCO User App. For territories with the higher speed limit of 50kmph/30mph, it is essential that location services are enabled for the UBCO User App prior to installing firmware version x1.00.330. This will allow a speed limit of 50kmph/30mph to be applied to the 2018 UBCO 2x2 within the noted territory.
