The control arms of the front and trailing axles are equipped with a flexible ball-joint at the chassis side. Van Hool has several suppliers for the repair kit of this flexible ball-joint. All of the repair kits contain a flexible ball-joint, a spacer and a snap ring. Due to not equal thickness of the spacer in the different kits, it is important to install all three the kit parts when replacing a flexible ball-joint. Do not mix parts of different repair kits!

A situation that can involve serious risks to passengers if they lean against the door panel while driving. Investigation has shown that all these complaints are the result of an incorrectly installed or missing blocking piece (1, figure 1) at the level of the lower door shaft lever in combination with poor maintenance and/or incorrect adjustment of the door system, and sometimes even the use of non-original replacement parts. For this reason, Ventura would like to draw attention to the already âhighlightedâ chapters in their manuals that describe the operation and importance of this blocking piece in the door system. It also states that these parts must be checked every 3 months.

Van Hool has released a wheel-end monitoring system (WEM) which can be installed on all vehicles equipped with light-alloy wheels. The WEM is installed at the outboard side of the wheel and monitors vibrations produced by the wheel bearing. It warns in case of bearing raceway spalling by flashing a red LED on the unit. The WEM is delivered with a magnet which is used to change from "transport" to "standstill" mode.
