Volvo Car Investigations have identified that there is a pairing issue with the key fob. As a result, there is a possibility that the customer’s key fob is not paired to the vehicle. The corrective action is to download SP Software. S10303 affects 151 vehicles in the U.S and 5 in Canada.

This is a Technical Journal: Sensus Navigation. IAM 2.1 software upgrade to allow map upgrade via USB. There is a new process for upgrading maps on cars with Sensus (IAM2.1) navigation. Map updates for Sensus navigation systems in MY2011-2015A cars (identified as shown in attached picture) can now be downloaded online and transferred to the car via a USB flash drive in the same way as current models. Updating via DVDs is no longer possible. This Technical Journal informs the technician how to perform the software upgrade. Service: To allow map upgrades via USB, the IAM software must be upgraded to the latest status. Technical Journal TITLE : The Error Frame Finder (EFF) can be an aid in fault tracing intermittent CAN network problems by providing a visible indication of error frames that are being transmitted on the network when the fault becomes active. The advantage of using the EFF function is that error frames are usually transmitted on the network before a vehicle symptom can occur. Hence, if the fault is very intermittent in nature, it may be possible, for example, to induce the wiring fault for a short duration by manipulating the vehicle harnesses and connectors. The electrical fault will occur and be detected by the EFF without ever having a vehicle symptom appear. The instructions for setting up the tool have been simplified.
