Volvo has identified that the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM) backup battery may be depleted while the vehicle is plugged in and charging the high voltage battery. This could result in a ?Volvo On Call Service Required? message displayed in the Driver Information Module (DIM). This condition has no effect on the vehicle?s drivability or performance.

The customer may report that the infotainment system in the vehicle re-starts or reboots intermittently while driving. When this happens the CCD and the center area of the DIM will go blank for a few moments and then start back up as if the vehicle has just been started up. The customer may also notice that the infotainment system is not responding as normal (ex.- long response time) just before this occurs. When the system reboots, some customer settings may change back to a previous setting (ex.- navi destination, climate settings, radio station, etc.)

The sound may come from the balance shaft which is fitted in the oil sump area where the noise is most concentrated. A new design of the balance shaft is planned to be introduced 2018-Q2. Note: It's extremely important to adjust the new balance shaft with the correct tools according the instructions otherwise the sound may occur again in a short mileage.
