Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Volvo Car Investigations have identified that there is a pairing issue with the key fob. As a result, there is a possibility that the customer’s key fob is not paired to the vehicle. The corrective action is to download SP Software. S10303 affects 151 vehicles in the U.S and 5 in Canada.

Volvo has identified that a malfunction in the Dual Purge check valve impacts the purge ejector function at high loads and the flow diagnostics will trigger a DTC and MIL. No impact on drive-ability or emissions. The corrective action is to replace the Dual Purge pipe.

Tire balancing should be checked and corrected as needed but is not always the solution. Road Force balancing detects assembly run out measured under load simulating real world driving conditions and will provide a solution to match mount the tire and rim to minimize loaded run out.

This is just a message and steering assistance is not affected. The condition could occur during start/stop activations. After cranking the steering assistance become normal and the error message disappears. The DTC indicate that one of the internal switches in the BCSM may be in the wrong position when cranking (during start/stop) and it could result in symptom similar to poor main battery state of charge (SOC).

Volvo has identified that the Telematics and Driver Support Systems may not function as designed due to a software error in the Vehicle Connectivity Module (VCM). This could result in the vehicle not providing the GPS location, increasing the risk of no emergency response. The corrective action is to complete a Total Upgrade on all affected vehicles. A total of 17,548 U.S. and 1,461 Canadian vehicles are eligible for this recall.

Please follow all precautions that apply when charging a larger main lead-acid battery. The battery will self-discharge over time and if allowed to be left at a sufficiently low voltage, it will become permanently damaged. The battery must have a minimum voltage of 9 volts to be installed in a vehicle.
