ADJUSTER Valve Lash Customer's complaint may include a ticking noise coming from the engine. Technician's observations can refer to spongy or stuck hydraulic lash adjusters. Exhaust lash adjusters found with a "spongy" condition (compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. EXHAUST lash adjusters are designed to be COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Intake lash adjusters found with a stiff or stuck condition (non-compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. INTAKE lash adjusters are designed to be NON COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Do Not Replace EXHAUST lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should be compressible, but they will exert a reactionary spring force during compression and return to full expansion without a compression force. Do Not Replace INTAKE lash adjusters when the following condition is present: should feel very firm and difficult to compress. Once the correct functioning of the intake and exhaust lash adjusters is validated with the procedure above, refer to the Service Manual "HYDRAULIC LIFTER(S) NOISE DIAGNOSIS" procedure. After the corresponding service procedures from the Service Manual involving the Lash Adjusters have been conducted, refer to the detailed instructions in the Service Manual to diagnose and/or service any other component.

CANISTER Vapor -If an issue is detected with the Evaporative System Integrity Module (ESIM) Detector and not the Vapor Canister, only replace the ESIM Detector. -Before replacing the Vapor Canister due to Hard to Fill condition, replicate the condition at the Gas Station. If the condition is replicated, then check: 1) for kinked or pinched Clean Air Hose between the ESIM and the EVAP Air Filter; 2) for plugged EVAP Air Filter; 3) for kinked or pinched Vapor Hose between the Fuel Tank and the Vapor Canister. If the EVAP Filter is restricted, the replace the Filter. -Check if the Vapor Canister is flooded with fuel or the Recirculation Line has fuel. If fuel is found in the Vapor Canister or the Recirculation Line, then drop the Fuel Tank, remove the FDM Lock Ring to check if the internal Vapor Line is properly connected to the FDM Port. If the Vapor Line is not connected, then drain the fuel from the internal Vapor Line and properly connect to the FDM. Replace the Vapor Canister and the ESIM.

3.6L PSU Long Block Misfire DTC codes and/or rough idle and/or valvetrain noise. These conditions may be related to worn intake camshaft high lift lobe(s), and intake rocker arm(s) high lift slider. High mileage failure (10,000-60,000 miles). 1. Remove the valve cover(s) per the released service procedures. The use of a stethoscope or DTC specific cylinder misfire codes can help to locate the condition to the left or right bank. 2. Once it has been visually confirmed that there is wear on the high lift intake lobe(s) & rocker arm(s) slider, there is a special service kit for this type of repair which should be used, instead of replacing the complete engine/long block. This kit contains the parts required for the repair (intake cam, rocker arms, sealer and gaskets). Once it is confirmed that the repair will be done using the camshaft/Rocker arms kit, it is also important to confirm that the vehicle being repaired has the latest calibration/software update for oil pump operation mode (high pressure mode) during engine start up. If a collapsed INTAKE HLA is found, replace all INTAKE HLAs on the suspect cylinder head (no need to replace rocker arms). The noise can occur at low or high RPMs, and at low or high temperatures. There are no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC)s present. China RU vehicles built prior to June 11, 2019 had a 05192374AB level cooler. All 68405320AC have the 05192374AC level cooler requires new 68413378AA inlet hose and 68425381AA outlet hose. The service SI-eVT is shipped with a non-China wiring harness (68241331AC). China market replacement must replace wiring harness with 68368596AA. The China variant 68368596AA wiring harness has an interlock to the electrical charge door. Production SI-eVTs have used motor "A" stators with 0.6 mm and 0.8 mm air gap. The PIM software must match the air gap. Mopar will now ship 68490840A* service SI-eVTs with a 0.8 mm air gap ONLY. Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster (VF) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

Rear Seat Entertainment System Video Routing Module Please check the Uconnect software portal to verify the latest software is installed. If the VRM Module is not showing up in WiTech (or is unresponsive) and/or the rear screens are not functioning, before replacement follow the steps below: 1.) Check the part number of the Module, this will be the number above the barcode seen in the top corner of the module. if it is 68376134AE contact Mike Galiati at 248-294-8754 before troubleshooting. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair. 2.) Disconnect and reconnect the 26-way power harness, if the module recovers check software is at the latest level 1750.13. 3.) If the Module does not recover in step 1, disconnect the BLUE mini-USB connector to the module and perform step 1 again. If the Module recovers, replace the USB port located next to the BlueRay player. If there are issues while using the Uconnect theater APP, black radio screen/does not open, but the rear screens are functional DO NOT replace the module. This is a radio software issue and not related to the Video Routing Module. If the above tip does not correct the issue, before replacing the Video Routing Module (VRM) for the Rear Seat Entertainment system in the Pacifica, please call Mike Galiati at (248) 294-8754. If no response in 15 minutes, proceed with repair.

UConnect Theater Remote Before replacing the Remote Control for the Rear Seat Entertainment system due to pairing issues, ensure that the VRM and radio software is at the latest level. If remote pairing still fails at the newer software levels, perform a reset on the remote by simultaneously pressing the Play/Pause, Down, and Screen buttons and holding for about 5 seconds until the remote backlighting flashes. It is also suggested to turn the ignition off, close all the doors, and wait for the cluster to go to sleep. Key the car back to ACC and retry the pairing procedure. Rain light sensor Rain sense wipers do not operate: 1. Visual Inspection--> Check if the sensor is visually OK. (all the pins are OK) Check that the Connector is NOT loose (Sensor must get a voltage from 9V to 16V) 2. Functional Checks Rain--> Steering column switch is in auto mode (sensor is active) it is necessary to splash water on the sensitive surface of the sensor to trigger wipes. check the same for different sensitivities When the rain sensitivity is increased (for example from level 0 to level 1), as an acknowledgement a single wipe is seen. (This is not a phantom wipe) and this single wipe is not seen when the rain sensitivity is decreased (from higher level to lower level) Light--> Steering column switch is in auto mode (sensor is active) block the light coming on the sensor from outside of the vehicle (use a opaque object), the head lamps should be activated 3. If the sensor seems functional, it is ideal to remove the silicon gel pad from the sensor, replace it with the new silicon gel pad instead of replacing the whole sensor. When servicing the LRSM please replace the silicon gel pad with a new silicon gel pad (PN 68224945AA) instead of replacing the whole sensor.
