Service Bulletin/Repair Instructions

Vehicle report
Technical service bulletins are instructions a manufacturer sent its dealers about a known fault. They are not recalls and the work is usually not free, but they are the clearest signal of a problem the manufacturer already knows about.

Transmission Kit with Torque Converter 1. All Promaster (VF) 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the transmission bracket to the transmission case fasteners are removed during servicing, the fasteners (Part Number 06511385A$) are one-time usage. Vehicles built prior to 10/23/2015 requires Service Kit PN 68461214AA; includes Transmission Isolator PN 68264483AA, and Adaptation Bracket 68264479AA and Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA Vehicles built after on or after 10/23/2015 will require only the Fastener Service Kit PN 68329056AA. 2. All 3.6L/62TE equipped vehicles. If the vehicle you are repairing has a crack in the flex plate or failed pump bushing inspect and confirm that both (2) dowel pins are present in the engine block, which align the transmission center line to the crank shaft centerline and visually inspect the dowel alignment holes in the transmission case. If the holes are damaged or elongated the transmission should be replaced to prevent further damage to the transmission/flexplate or pump bushing due to the inability to properly align the engine to the transmission during the repair. 3. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If pump bushing is scored or damaged and the dowel pin alignment holes are ok, replace the pump assembly as opposed to complete transmission. 4. All 62TE equipped vehicles. If vehicle is jerking/slipping with MIL code(s) P0740 or P2764, check TCC Solenoid operation. If TCC Solenoid is ok, the codes are indicative of a torque converter failure. Replace the torque converter.

GEAR MOTOR, Transfer Case The gear motor assembly is shipped in AWD/2WD position. The transfer case needs to be positioned in AWD/2WD position to properly assemble gear motor to T-Case. Please reference Star Online publication S2121000003 for further details. Do not have the transfer case in in another position other than AWD/2WD and rotate the motor to align the bolt holes as this could result in damage to the gear motor.

Flash: MIL Illumination With Transmission And Driveability Improvements This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software. The customer may experience a MIL illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that any of the following erroneous Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs): ? U0140 - Lost Communication With Body Control Module. 2010 DJ 5.7L (Sales Code EZC) Attempting to clear this DTC will be unsuccessful. ? P050D - Cold Start Rough Idle. ? P2181 - Cooling System Performance has been set. ? P0935 - Line Pressure Sensor Circuit High. All RFE transmissions. P0300 through P0308 - Multiple and Single Cylinder Misfire. This condition can occur when the vehicle is started cold and the driver immediately places the vehicle in drive and applies heavy throttle. Driveability and Transmission improvements are also included with this software release. These changes consist of the following: ? Enhanced clutch protection for more robust torque management during repeated fore and aft movement (rocking vehicle). All engines. ? A revised torque convertor lockup schedule that will reduce transmission temperatures in Tow/Cruise mode. All models equipped with RFE transmission. ? A Clunk sound or feel a shudder when the cruise control resume switch is pressed. This condition is most noticeable after the brakes were pressed to cancel cruise control and then the resume switch is pressed. All models equipped with RFE transmission. ? A shudder or shaking feeling when a wide open throttle (WOT) event is performed by the customer. This is most noticeable after the transmission downshifts during the WOT event. This condition will stop once the transmission upshifts. All models equipped with RFE transmission. ? A shudder or shaking feeling when accelerating from a stop under moderate throttle. This condition will stop once the transmission upshifts. All models equipped with RFE transmission.

Mopar offers an alternative product (82213192) which is a water based product approved for sale in the aforementioned states.~ ~ Please inform the customer & your prep dept that spraying excessive amounts of the fabric protector on load floors will result in the breaking down of the adhesive (glue) that is used to create the bond between the fabric (carpet) and the load floor. This will apply to any vehicles equipped with rear load floors such as WK, WD, PM, MK, KA, KK. The carpet will appear to be loose, wrinkly, or bunch up~

Advanced Field Action Communication ? N0802072013 Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced a safety recall on certain 2009 through 2012 model year: (DS) Ram Truck (ND) Dodge Dakota (HB) Dodge Durango (HG) Chrysler Aspen NOTE: All of the above involved vehicles are equipped with a Chrysler 9.25? rear axle (sales code DRB) or C235 rear axle (sales code DRN). The above vehicles may have been built with a rear axle pinion nut that can loosen, which could result in the rear axle locking up. This could cause a loss of vehicle control and/or a crash with little warning. Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to install a rear axle pinion nut retainer. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established methods used in the past.

Advanced Field Action Communication ? M3411302012 Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) announced a safety recall on certain 2009 and 2010 model year (DS) Ram 1500 series trucks and (ND) Dodge Dakota trucks equipped with a Chrysler built 9.25? rear axle. The above vehicles may have been built without an adhesive patch on the rear axle pinion nut threads. The lack of this adhesive patch could allow the rear axle pinion nut to loosen and/or the rear driveshaft to separate from the rear axle. A loose pinion nut could cause the rear axle to seize and a separated driveshaft could cause a loss of motive power. Excessive loosening of the rear axle pinion nut can allow the pinion gear to be drawn into the rear axle assembly, resulting in rear axle lock-up. Chrysler will conduct a voluntary safety recall on all affected vehicles to install a rear axle pinion nut retainer. Unfortunately, the parts required to provide a permanent remedy for this condition are currently not available. Chrysler anticipates the remedy parts will be available within the 1st quarter of 2013. An interim notification letter is being mailed to all involved vehicle owners. Chrysler is required by Federal law to inform all involved vehicle owners of a potential vehicle safety defect.
