In some cases, the Check Engine light may illuminate and a knock sensor-related DTC set in the ECM memory: P0327, P0328, P0332 and P0333. The knock sensor for DIT engines is now utilized for NA engines to improve durability and resistance to heat.

During assembly of the bearing, a different type of grease is used which has a higher resistance to heat. In cases where the operator keeps a foot on the clutch pedal for extended periods, an increased amount of heat is generated which can cause the grease inside the bearing to deteriorate. In a case of prolonged clutch pedal application, seizure of the bearing can occur with potential damage to other related components.

Revisions made to the upper oil pan casting: * The mating flange thickness of the casting in the area identified as the cause for the seepage has been increased by 5.5mm. (See images provided in the Parts Information section below.) This thickness increase creates the need for a longer bolt to provide proper tightening and retention. * An additional mounting point has been added to the ribbing inside the casting to increase retention of the steel baffle plate and eliminate vibration.

SUBARU HAS DETERMINED THAT AFFECTED VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH OPTIONAL GENUINE SUBARU PUDDLE LIGHTS MAY DEVELOP A SHORT CIRCUIT AND CAUSE THE RELATED COMPONENTS TO OVERHEAT AND POTENTIALLY MELT. A SHORT CIRCUIT CAN DEVELOP WHEN EITHER THE PUDDLE LIGHTS OR CONNECTORS ARE EXPOSED TO AN ELECTROLYTIC MOISTURE SOURCE (I.E.- SALT WATER) AND IT PENETRATES THE CIRCUIT BOARD OF THE PUDDLE LIGHT OR THE PINS OF THE PUDDLE LIGHT CONNECTOR(S). THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES AN INSPECTION AND REPAIR PROCEDURE TO ADDRESS A MISALIGNMENT OF THE REAR UPPER AND LOWER WINDOW SASH WHICH MAY CAUSE THE FRONT DOOR GLASS TO BIND OR MOVE SLOWLY WHEN OPENING OR CLOSING. THIS CONDITION MAY ALSO CAUSE ERRATIC OPERATION OF THE POWER WINDOW AUTO-UP FEATURE (IF EQUIPPED). IN SOME CASES, WHEN CLOSING THE WINDOW, THE SYSTEM MAY MIS-INTERPRET THE BINDING CONDITION AND ACTIVATE THE PINCHING HAZARD PREVENTION FEATURE AND REVERSE THE MOTORS DIRECTION.
