This will prevent the pad from dragging due to corrosion buildup which may result in uneven or premature wear of the replacement brake pads. This Service Information bulletin announces a design change to the clutch release bearing used on the models as listed above. During assembly of the bearing, a different type of grease is used which has a higher resistance to heat. In cases where the operator keeps a foot on the clutch pedal for extended periods, an increased amount of heat is generated which can cause the grease inside the bearing to deteriorate. In a case of prolonged clutch pedal application, seizure of the bearing can occur with potential damage to other related components.

The shutters of the vent grille are designed to open briefly and relieve cabin pressure when the doors are shut with the windows fully closed. The vent grilles have rubber ?shutters? which occasionally, may catch on the frame (case) portion and not close properly allowing outside air / odor to enter the cabin.

This bulletin provides details regarding a new oil filler tube o-ring developed to address engine oil seepage concerns. This seepage may accumulate along the bottom sealing surface of the rocker cover. The new o-ring utilizes material which has an increased resistance to engine heat.

This bulletin announces a design change to the front seat back upholstery retaining hooks (HOOK FLAT MAT). The change is in response to customer concerns of discomfort coming from the center of the seat back and outside bolsters. When a hook fails, the center (flat) portion of the seat back drops inward from lack of support. If not repaired, with continued use, the seat back frame may break down the foam padding covering it. Eventually, the frame will likely wear through and damage the trim cover.

In the event a product containing silicone is used to lubricate the BLS or for other purposes in the area around the switch, a non-conductive coating may develop over time on the internal electrical contacts and affect operation of the switch. On / Off signal output from the BLS is critical for proper operation of various systems on the vehicle. When the switch does not operate properly, warning lamps illuminate and DTCs are stored. A table with BLS-related DTCs and additional information is provided in the Service Procedure information. A photo of the switch changes is shown below. This bulletin also provides a diagnostic and adjustment procedure to be used when diagnosing brake light switch-related DTCs.

SHOULD YOU RECEIVE A CUSTOMER CONCERN OF A LOOSE WINDSHIELD MOUNTED AUTO-DIMMING COMPASS MIRROR WITH HOMELINK (WITH OR WITHOUT HOMELINK ON BRZ MODELS), THE MOUNTING ADAPTER PLATE SHOULD BE CHECKED FOR PROPER TIGHTNESS. THE APPLICABLE VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE UTILIZE A MIRROR MOUNT ADAPTOR TO SECURE THE MIRROR TO THE WINDSHIELD. DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION, IN SOME CASES, THE MIRROR MAY LOOSEN OVER TIME AND BEGIN TO RATTLE. A NEW SERVICE KIT HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO IMPROVE RETENTION OF THE MIRROR TO THE WINDSHIELD MOUNT.
