If this issues occurs on models with Auto A/C, the blower fan may become totally inoperative. If this issue occurs on models with Manual A/C, the blower fan may operate on high speed only. The root cause of these conditions is water intrusion into the blower motor causing rust and corrosion to develop. Over time, the blower motor may begin to draw more electrical current to operate. if that occurs, the additional draw can cause the related fuse and/ or blower resistor to fail. To address this condition, additional packing has been added to improve sealing of the blower unit case along with development of a new style cabin air filter which also in corporates improved sealing.

The material of the TGV shaft has been changed to stainless steel to optimize corrosion resistance.

In some cases, the Check Engine light may illuminate and a knock sensor-related DTC set in the ECM memory: P0327, P0328, P0332 and P0333. The knock sensor for DIT engines is now utilized for NA engines to improve durability and resistance to heat.

During assembly of the bearing, a different type of grease is used which has a higher resistance to heat. In cases where the operator keeps a foot on the clutch pedal for extended periods, an increased amount of heat is generated which can cause the grease inside the bearing to deteriorate. In a case of prolonged clutch pedal application, seizure of the bearing can occur with potential damage to other related components.

The gap may also make the glove box door difficult to close fully.There is a latch to keep the glove box closed on both sides of the glove box door. If the door is closed without using enough force to engage both latches or by pushing it shut on just one side instead of in the middle, one may close and not the other. Over time, if the door is not fully closed with both latches, high cabin temperatures along with weight of the items inside the glove box may cause the assembly to deform slightly and a gap to develop.

This thickness increase creates the need for a longer bolt to provide proper tightening and retention. * An additional mounting point has been added to the ribbing inside the casting to increase retention of the steel baffle plate and eliminate vibration.

The channel attaches the door glass assembly to the window regulator. In below-freezing temperature conditions, water freezing in the channel combined with the door glass sticking to the door weatherstrip can increase chance of the glass separating from the channel when attempting to operate (lower) the window. A lubricant has been added to the rubber portion to insure the glass gets fully seated during assembly which maximizes the clamping force of the channel on the glass.

IN SOME CASES, THIS ACCUMULATION MAY CAUSE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE AND EXHAUST CAMSHAFT POSITION-RELATED DTCS TO BE STORED IN THE ECM MEMORY (E.G. P0390, P0391). THE CHANGE INVOLVES FULL TAPING OF THE HARNESS TUBE AS OPPOSED TO PITCH TAPING (NO TAPE OVERLAP) TO ENHANCE SEALING OF THE HARNESS TUBE AND PREVENT WATER INTRUSION WHICH MAY OCCUR DURING ENGINE CLEANING (STEAM CLEANING AND / OR PRESSURE WASHING). Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) is recalling certain 2015 model year Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Subaru Impreza (4Door and 5Door) and Subaru XV Crosstrek vehicles and certain 2016MY Subaru WRX vehicles equipped with a Driver Assist System. The programming of the Driver Assist System will not detect a fault in one of the associated system components. In the event of Brake Lamp Switch (BLS) failure, the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) correctly detects the BLS failure, but the Driver Assist System will be delayed in detecting the BLS failure. Therefore, it will take longer for the multi information display to inform the driver of a malfunction. In addition, VDC will not receive the brake request from the Driver Assist System, resulting in no automatic braking, including Adaptive Cruise Control and PreCollision Braking.

This bulletin announces a repair procedure to address customer concerns of the hood scoop scrubbing the finish of the hood panel in the areas shown in the photo below. Due to different expansion rates between the metal hood panel and the resin material used for the hood scoop, the edges of the scoop?s rear corners may come in contact with the hood panel and abrade the finish. The procedure involves installation of 2 pieces of self-adhesive rubberized material to act as protectors (insulators) between the scoop and hood panel.
